Fake Anti-Virus and Rogue Security Applications

Recently the problem with "Fake" Anti-virus and "Rogue" Security Applications has reached critical mass. In an effort to help our clients, Union Technology Cooperative will be posting a series of YouTube tutorials and posts here on our blog, with instructions on how to defend your computer from these types of malicious applications.

Part 1 of this series is presently available on YouTube.
This series is ongoing with additional recommendations and instructions coming soon.  "Fake Anti-Virus and Rogue Security Applications Part 1" covers the single most important step you can take in defending your PC from fake anti-virus applications; creating a single "Administrator" account, and only using your computer as a "Standard" user.

As always, if you think your computer is infected with malicious software, NEVER enter credit card or financial information.  If you need assistance with the instructions, or have questions please visit our website; www.utcwisconsin.com and select from one of the contact options on our home page.
